Layups getting stripped at all time rate

I don't know if this is just me, or what caused the drastic change, but ever since last week or so, every other layup in traffic is getting stripped before my player even leaves the ground. It is frustrating me not only the sheer number of times this occurs, but the fact that it wasn't happening last month, but this month it is.

I'll leave a video below, and if anyone knows what slider it is to tone this down, please let me know.

Agreed! Happening a lot just recently. Legitimizes some of the paranoia about them tweaking the game often.

I think everyone will agree with me once you watch the video. One thing will pop into your head. And it will be "PASS THE FREAKING BALL".

Yes, I agree. The purpose of the video was to show the animation, most times I would not take it to the hole there selfishly.

It's just another "Band-Aid on a bullet hole" from 2k. Everyone on defense is on ice skates and the CPU can't keep the center out of the paint, so instead of fixing that they made strips, blocks, and missed dunks way more common.

Just added 2nd video, this has happened to me a total of 8 times this game, and only one was for the sake of creating this thread. Majority of them are like to 2nd video, where a guy is on your hip, you go for a simple bump layup, and you get stripped...

                The stripping is excessive IMO

its excessive, but I think its that way to offset the ease of getting into the lane.
Im learning to be more selective, properly space the floor before I drive in the paint
or if Im feeding the post, ill make a quicker move before the defense collapses or

I don't agree. The strip steal animation has been perfectly placed this year. It's super balance.

Let me give an example.... On long strides layup animations with opponents with high steal ratings. They will have a better chance of stealing those type of layups (with contact especially with contact). The farther out you are. The more likely to get stolen. Same thing goes for Chase downs. And it's not as simple as your staying. Those layup animations only trigger when you try to take off around the free throw line (two step gather). Any time a player with high steal rating is in that situation it's most likely will be a steal. The other time these steal steal animations are trigger is when a big pump fakes under the rim vs a small player with high steal rating.

I think you can hop step to avoid this

You still get stripped on hop-steps...

This is correct, current game I am being stripped on passes, and on hop steps, and close shots. This was NOT an issue two weeks ago, so why is it now? That's what's most puzzling to me.

try to avoid hop step towards the basket when u see the defense are sagging the paint. point the left stick side ways away from the defenders and tap the shoot button amd see what happens.
when driving into the paint, i like pulling the right stick away from the basket to trigger a runner or a floater. sometimes, bcos of the camera angle i get a nice euro-step animation. or, u'll get those wade-kind of animation where u swing the ball one circle to avoid being stripped.
i read another thread floaters are tough to make. i think, if u pull the right stick just in time before the defender initiates the contact on u, the success rate can be high.
the thing is, avoid the crowd as far as possible.
                            hope it helps.
