Statistics - defense?

Is there any way to quantify how good a player is on Defense using statistics? I know there is oFG% and RB but anything else?

Does anybody have any other way of telling besides trusting the ratings?

I don't really get how they get the PAPG, oFGA, oFGM, and oFG%; in MC I lead the league in the first 3(16.3, 7.6 and 20.2) even though I'm second in the league among anyone that plays more than 25 MPG in oFG%(37.7). Like does it count only the shots taken by the my matchup(the SF) or anyone that I'm supposed to cover(the who to guard arrow) or is it any shot I contest(I contest a lot of shots)?

Yea - that is why I was asking - I have players that are suppose to be great on defense but their oFG% is not "awesome" and others that are so-so with .390 oFGA.

If you don't let people score BUT when they finally TRY they hit .450 . . . . . .

So I was curious if anyone knew OTHER stats
