The Olympics in 2K17???
Just wondering if it has been confirmed or not. Some of my favorite photos from the photographic thread are the Olympic team photos. Obviously, Would be a terribly missed opportunity if it isn't in the game. With Rio coming this summer do you guys feel like it should be in the game or you don't really care for a mode like that? Let me know.Tags: None -
Re: The Olympics in 2K17???
I would love for the Olympics to be in 2K17. I think that would be a good addition for Association and MyPlayer mode. I would love competing to make the Olympic team and then competing w/ other great players against other countries.

Re: The Olympics in 2K17???
If they gonna make Olympic teams crappy like Euroleague then i don't want it at all. Especially that means for obscure basketball countries from Africa & Asia. I mean..no need to take this convo further when 2K thought spanish born player Alex Abrines was black.
This is Alex Abrines 2K and this is how Alex Abrines looked on 2K15..

Re: The Olympics in 2K17???
So it may not be the Olympics, but they could certainly add their own basketball world cup or something.
Who knows, maybe the rights to FIBA comps could be bought up cheap by 2K.
Anyway, I like the idea of some international competition.Comment

Believe it or not, there are actually some invisible players on a certain euro team.

I may be going completely crazy but I could have sworn I heard something about the FIBA World Cup in the American Airlines Center. Could be something that the Mav's actually have IRL or I could be crazy too. But maybe its like a easter egg of sorts"Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"

I've been hearing it all year in different arenas. During halftime, deadballs, end of games, timeouts. You aren't losing it.Comment

This was after an out of bounds in a MyGm game.
I heard another one in myTeam and I'll try to post it soon.

Re: The Olympics in 2K17???
That FIBA PA bug is very interesting, the next FIBA World Cup will be in 2019 so that seems to be quite far off in the future to be a new feature in 2K17. As far as the olympics go, I don't know about licensing through FIBA being a definite pre-requisite to include national teams in a tournament format. They may not be able to have a FIBA event (olympics, world cup or continental championships) in the game without the license, but including the national teams would need them to have the rights to use the country's flag and using NBAPA and Euroleague players who they already have the license for to populate the rosters in a customizable group play plus tournament game mode could be a conceivable possibility. An example of this is the NHL series that does not have any IIHF events or jerseys in the game but they do include the national teams and have had tournament modes in the game. Whether or not they have the IIHF license, I'm not sure. With the Euroleague adopting a more NBA style schedule next year, I could definitely see a different implementation of those teams next year than we have seen in the last few years, which would be amazing. There is some outstanding basketball being played outside of the NBA right now and any new, meaningful ways to play the game are always a welcome change."A basket make one guy happy...assist, two guys happy."

Re: The Olympics in 2K17???
Yea I was thinking that even without the licenses, they still have the euroleague rosters so they could create their own tourney like they did with the Las Vegas Summer League & called it the 2k summer leagueComment
