Like Okafor wanted to ended up on 76ers last year he was sooo not excited to be drafted there, but he couldn't do anything about it.

They desperately need another ball handler and lights out shooter. Murray is perfect for that.
Rubio sucks at running the P&R which is so important in todays game and can't finish at the rim. He can also guard the 1 or the 2 with his 6'9.5 wingspan. Twolves don't have a problem scoring. San Antonio doesn't take a lot of threes and either does OKC.

Ehh. They're 12th in Off Rtg which is actually the same rating the Warriors had pre-Kerr era.

They definitely have room to grow on offense, but defense is still their biggest need.

And I understand those teams don't depend on the three and it's possible to succeed without it, but the Wolves definitely need to improve there.

After looking up stats, Rubio is average in PnR. I'll concede I was wrong there, but that's just one facet of offense.

They have control over them for 5 years. Where are you getting 9? They could play their first 4, and then just sign their qualifying offer for their 5th year, and then hit the open market, ala Greg Monroe.

Because most guys are smart enough to know that the big money will come on those max contracts that their team will sign them to when they are a restricted free agent.

This. 99/100 times players will take that guaranteed money and extra that their team can give them.

Sure there are some instances like Greg Monroe, but it's a risk.

It's definitely a risk, but they're still only under team control for the first 5 years. They have a choice whether to leave or not, if they so choose. Saying they will take the extra money would mean they would be under team control for their whole career, because the team they previously played for can offer them the most money at every contract. That's not what team control is.

Okay technically 5 years, but still combine that with the perks of staying with their current team and how unlikely it is a player chooses to sign that QO, the point still stands.

You take the player no matter what.
