Re: 2k takes no skill?
I disagree coming from the perspective of someone who plays baseball way more than basket ball. I play with the shot meter off and on Superstar difficulty.
From a skill perspective I rely on the sole timing of my created player's jumpshot animation. I play My League with a created player. Shots are difficult but feel realistic enough to where I do not drain everyone even with well defended shots.
The shots that I take have a good release (based on jumpshot animation) seem to fall but not always and when they do fall this is where the reward comes in with the gameplay experience.
This dynamic keeps me playing 2K16 well over MLB The Show 16 even though I am a bigger baseball fan and its passed mid season for baseball but yet I am playing 2K16 because of this challenge as there is no defensive challenge in MLB The Show 16
When MLB The 16 added features like Showtime and other similar game features that cannot be turned off! The entire MLB experience was cheapened. While it looked the part of a real life MLB game but Instead of feeling like a athlete apart of the action. The events are scripted and result in a horrible defensive experience.
On the flip side I do think that outside of Showtime the batting experience in MLB The Show is a challenging and rewarding experience.
Although I am highly looking forward to 2K17 to improve on the defensive challenge side of things. If they decide to implement any type of Showtime or similar effect into their game! It will definitely cheapen the overall NBA experience. So let's cross fingers and hope they never take that route!
