How important is the soundtrack to you in NBA 2k?

Whenever I play NBA 2k12, I'm always looking forward to the halftime and post game. I think I felt the same way with 2k11. Alan Parson's Project, Michael Jordan theme of Chicago? You can't beat that can you? The soundtrack really was that good for me and as the years progressed when we started being force fed JayZ, I wasn't sucked as much. I'm not a ***** of modern music by any means, but that's why it's so important to have a very immersive, but high variety of music. I thought 14 had a nice blend of classic rock, pop and the new stuff of course. I felt like a giddy school boy when I heard "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. You can't coach that.

What are your thoughts on the importance of soundtracks?

As long as the soundtrack has throwback gems, and a few songs within the past year or so and they keep headknocking jams coming, the game will be A1.
I stay handing folk's L's meanwhile I'm dancing like...

Being that it's 2016 and we all have devices in which we can choose what we listen to, I never get people wanting certain songs or complaining about a soundtrack.

Me personally, I listen to podcasts while I game so I don't care either way.

Honestly, I loved the 2K soundtracks prior to the effort to bring in a special celebrity to curate the soundtrack. It was nice hearing lesser known artists/bands in some sort of spotlight thanks to the mass appeal of the game. I find it important to have some appealing background sound while I'm going through the menus or even the pre-game intros we had from NBA 2K11 to NBA 2K13. I definitely wish they go back to their original style that they had from the first NBA 2K with a soundtrack (2K4 IIRC) up to 2K12, but still keeping their 2K Sports Classics from 2K16. So to me, yeah it's important.

But that's me personally. Totally respect and appreciate those who value the soundtrack.

Spotify basically makes the soundtrack obsolete. With that said I still it to be decent because the more good songs that are added to the Spotify playlist for 2k9 through 2k16(17) the better.
