Yep, Id say this is where the issue is out. Players ego's get in the way, and they want more than a player they feel they were better than.

Personally I would think 2k or any video game company using a retired player for that matter, would just have a set budget, and every players gets the same cut for the use of their likeness. Then again that would be too easy to do,lol. Probably wouldnt solve the issue totally, as some people are just pricks no matter the situation.
