NBA 2K17 MyPlayer Ratings For All Positions, Archetypes, and Heights

I've compiled a spreadsheet with data retrieved from http://nba2kmyplayer.com/

Big shout out to that sites administrator, and all credit for the ratings found in this spreadsheet should go to him, I just formatted it.

Also, credit to OS member Permatron for bringing the site to my attention so that I could even do this at all.

All data found within this sheet is an exact copy from the nba2kmyplayer website. I cannot guarantee these numbers are 100% accurate, as I am getting them straight from that source. Please, if you have a discrepancy, post it in this thread with proof that your data is right, and I will update the sheet.

I have included a column in the sheet that stands out as it's formatted in red, and it is simply a straight line average of all of the attribute columns to give a general idea of the aggregated score. DO NOT take that number for anymore than what it is. It's not an Overall rating, and a higher number does not necessarily mean a superior build to one with a lower number. It has no official bearing in anything with NBA2k.

Finally, a note from the site admin that provided this data:

All of the stats provided were recorded with the default Weight and Wingspan.

If any of these stats are incorrect please let me know ASAP! Please message me on Twitter, @SamBushme, with the correct stat, height, position.

I am currently in the mix of trying to figure out the math regarding the changes in stats for the Weight/Wingspan. If anyone has any insight regarding the matter please message me on Twitter. @SamBushme

      Thanks, this is awesome!

I thought 2k17 had finally demystified the ratings during character creation, but turns out they just put "Up" arrows and "Down" arrows with no real numbers.... sucks that the community has to keep doing their job for them, but thanks again!

No problem. I found a few discrepancies in the ratings, and I'm going to upload a more updated file shortly. Relatively minor, just a couple columns wrong on a 6'8" PF Athletic Finisher.

Are these the max ratings for each attribute the build can theoretically achieve? I would assume it's not your base starting ratings.

Really, really wish they had a Point Forward option for the PF position.

Guess if you make a 6'9" SF they could be theoretically played at PF, but that's up to the AI coach which definitely means it won't happen much.

I just want to make a Boris Diaw clone!

Guess the best bet for this at the moment is to get the Stretch Big PF then put all your points into Playmaking. Could work well, I suppose.

This is the maximum. It's important to note that it would be impossible for your player to have the maximum ratings listed here, as 2K does not give us the ability to collect all attribute bars.

There are 150 possible attribute bars, of which, only 125 are obtainable (rumored to be 135 with 'doing work'). So keep that in mind.

v nice. I wish there was a site that had wt/wingspan too. It's strange that 6'10 shot creator has a higher 3 than 6'9...

What's the purpose of this? Why are you fascinated with the max rating? I think it would be more interesting to see the starting attributes of each of these players. I'd like to create 150 rookies and let the 36 teams sign them in franchise mode. I thought it might be neat to create them with an overall of 55 (same as a my player career mode). And give everyone a super high potential so they grow. Does anyone know what an authentic peak age start and end is? Anyone have any details on the play for a winner, loyalty etc bias ratings? I am brand new to NBA 2K and would appreciate your help! Thanks :-)

Sure wish theyd release this on launch day so ppl know what they are making.

                          If I had this last year, I would've made a 6' 10" Post Scorer, and not a 7' 3" post scorer.

Being a taller post scorer doesn't add any points to any of the scoring, defensive, or rebounding attributes. I don't really know how 2k came up with these ratings. a 7' 3" post scorer absolutely should have a better hook shot than a 6' 10" post scorer. I do agree at 7' 3" you should be the slowest guy in the game but a lot of the other stuff doesn't make sense. These ratings do explain a lot about the game tho. Like why do smaller bigs sometimes board in a group of 7 foot 3 bigs. Because they have the same box out and rebounding stats but shorter bigs verticals are way higher. Or how about the difference in ball handling between a 7' 3" post scorer and a 6' 10" post scorer. The difference in ball control is literally almost 20 points! Like why!??! Being shorter automatically must mean that hes a better dribbler?

Seeing this chart has shown me how horribly not sim this game really has been all year.

2k just needs to let you add a second archetype or they need to eliminate caps all together.

If you wanna have a 7' 3" post scorer with 94 speed then be my guest. Youll just be sacrificing something else that you need and youll have to live with that.

Also there are a lot of anomalies in the NBA. Dwight Howard in his prime could jump out the gym at 6' 10'. Giannis is 7 foot tall and handles like a guard and is one of the fastest players in the league. 2k doesn't allow for such superstar combinations and imo that's now unrealistic.

If these stats are correct then a 7' 3" post scorer player will basically never be nothing more than what it is at an 86 ovr. But if you upgrade a 6' 10" post scorer with intelligence, you can make him very versatile.

Honestly if I had to choose between this years 2k and the glitchfest that NBA 2k10 became where you could do that USB glitch and get a maxxed out 7 footer id pick 2k10 because at least everyone was on the same playing field. And if you didn't partake in the glitch like me, you really couldn't complain.

Jesus Christ looking at these ratings you are screwing yourself hard if you make a 7 foot or taller athletic finisher. The best athletic finisher you can make is a 6'9 or 6' 10. Going taller than that doesn't increase any stats at all. Not rebounding not boxing out...nothing. All it does is screw you. Your vert goes down, your speed goes way down, your layup even goes way down as you get taller...like WTF
