Thanks for the input guys. Seems like the KS8000 might be the choice. Although from what I've seen and read that HDR is def a game changer....I'm sure regardless of what tv we play on, at least 1080p or above, that NBA 2k17 gonna be a beautiful game. Hope all you fellas enjoy it during early tipoff weekend. I actually lose sleep during NBA 2k week because of anticipation as nerdy as that sounds lol.

Re: Best 4K-HDR tv for nba 2k

I got the Samsung 8 Series UN55JS8500F - 55" 3D LED Smart TV - 4K UltraHD - 120 Hz.

It's a very good tv for the price. It has game mode to prevent input lag and if you have the Xbox one s. You doubt have to worry about the input lag at all. And say for instance you have a galaxy smartphone. You can connect the TV and the phone up wireless-ly so you can play anything on the TV on your smartphone. So if you have to go to the kitchen you can take your phone and watch whatever you're looking at on TV on your phone. I even played the game like this.

Re: Best 4K-HDR tv for nba 2k

Before you go out and buy a 4k tv for HDR the biggest thing you must consider is the display i.e. the Panel 8 bit panels are limited and you will not get the full range of HDR, 10 bit Panels offer the full HDR experience.

Enter 10-bit, and HDR

The big push for 10-bit panels is due to the advent of High Dynamic Range content. This 10-bit content can have more detail in the bright areas of the image, and/or more details in the dark parts of the image. It can also have a greater range between the brightest and darkest parts of the image.

To use our example from before, in theory with HDR content, you could have the dark room while still seeing what was outside at the same time. Done right, the image looks far more realistic.

It also means more shades of color: 1,024×1,024×1,024= 1,072,341,824. Yep, one billion colors. Potentially.

the difference between 8 bits and 10 bits is enormous, with 8-bit color allowing for a total of only 16.8 million color mixes and only 257 possibly values for any one of the primary digital display colors –Red Green and Blue (RGB). While this sounds enormous, 10-bit color allows for just over 1 billion different colors and 1024 different values for any of the RGB colors. In other words, a 4K TV with 10-bit color offers a much more refined, smoother gradation between color variations, and the effect in 4K TV display can be spectacular to behold, especially as far as realism and vibrancy are concerned
