strength affects driving?

hey all,

I was wondering what strength stands for. I know its for how hard you push when you post up or get position for a rebound, but does it also affect your driving?

I mean, if there are 2 identical guys but one has 94 strength and the other 55, does the stronger guy drive more easily in the paint through contact or is it really irrlevant in driving?

Re: strength affects driving?

Strength is factored in dribble collisions. Yes.

That's why Lillard is almost every year a full offensive machine for PG as he can shoot the 3 and drive extremely well due to his strength.

Same applies for Richmond.

Good to see you in here Beluba. How does it affect ability to get past a defender and in the post for both offense & defense this year?

Re: strength affects driving?

I think that's probably why it's so tough to dribble by a big in a mis-match situation, because of his higher strength rating.
At least it was like that in past 2K games, hopefully it's been improved this year with the removal of the suction defense.

Interesting, I will be making a PG 6'2.. Now my speed will be excellent but my strength not so much. Please tell me that speed will have a factor in this, what if a Center switches on me and I try to take it to the paint, will I be able to get by based on speed or does it only takes strength as a factor?

Re: strength affects driving?

Speed is obviously a huge factor as well. Think of it like this... Speed is what lets the quick guys blow by slower guys if they can get the right driving angle, but if the ball handler tries to truck through the defender, the strength delta will determine the outcome of the collision.

I thought blow bys were solely controlled by the ball handler rating. U could literally run at someone with Crawford and get one
