This year's game feels REALLY rushed...

I am hoping that we are playing a paid Beta and that they will release a Game day Patch to fix a lot of the major problems.

I decided last year, and it was confirmed for me with the early release date this year, that I although I would still pre-order, I wasn't really going to play this game until after the big gameplay patch. I'm kind of expecting it around opening night.

The last couple of years, I've let the early issues with the game completely sour my long term enjoyment of those versions, stopping playing them pretty quickly. I have a totally different mindset this year, knowing that the game state after the big patch is really the true release of the game, IMO.

Basketball is my favorite, but I've got a lot of other games to pass the time with right now.

I hate when people bring out other games as if its supposed to change the way OP feels. Strange behavior.

The game while being buggy as hell, is fun. I'd wish they spent more time on OA
But other than that. Its great. But i feel what you are saying

I think what people need to realize is this is NBA 2K and not freaking Madden. This game is a million times better than Madden or NHL and Live. The thing is we aren't comparing it to those sub-par sim-ish games. We're comparing it to 2k16, 2k15, 2k14, etc.

With that said I like the game so far. I see the direction and effort, and that has me optimistic.

If you compare 2k to other Next Gen games, it's actually pretty terrible.

Compare the matchmaking to any major FPS game - 2k gets an F
Compare the "maps" of the park to the map in any other major multiplayer game - 2k getes an F
Compare the story of 2k to any other major games - 2k gets an F
etc.
etc.

I wonder, do 2k players play other big budget games?

Yeah, however, I see nothing wrong with taking it all in perspective. Like, say "oh yeah 2k has bugs alright, and this is not acceptable, BUT, the sum of it parts makes it a far superiour sports game to any other." Thats a fair assessment, as opposed to "ZOMG!$ 2k has bugs, its trash!". You'd be amazed how soon this lot jumps to the latter.
