    Too Many Injuries in MyGM

I've been playing around with MYGM the past few days, love the new additions and such. Trading still seems a tad easy as i got Rudy Gobert for Nick Young and Yi Jalian, but that discussion is for another time.

Anyways, i've noticed a large amount of injuries in the league and it's only in week two. We've lost Anthony Davis the first night with an achillies injury and i have Westbrook, Booker, and Ingram all out two months with broken ankles.

I've played in five games where i've seen players get injured. I love the animations for them, great job 2k. But there are simply way too many and each of the injuries occur after a jump shot with no contact. I found that odd.

Anyway we can tweak this down in a future update? Thanks!

Is there an injury slider for MyGM/MyLeague?

Happens in MyLeague too. I have 2-3 injuries in every game.
I like that players get injured, waiting for this for years, but it needs to be toned down a little bit.

In MyLeague you cannot set the frequency for injuries, only the frequeny of major injuries and how minor injuries affect the player.

In MyGM no option I guess.
That´s why I hope they get rid of MyGM and put the RPG elements from MyGM into MyLeague, optional of course - that would be the best thing they can do, it would make everybody happy.

Yes you can. Options -> MyLeague Settings. In the last category (Difficulty), second from the bottom pair, you'll find the "Injury Frequency" sliders.

I tried them at 40 and it seemed to have no effect. My team still got three injuries in a little less than two games. So now I've lowered them to 25 to see what happens, and there were no injuries in the first game I played (although that may not mean anything since I did play games at default 50 where there were no injuries.) Testing continues.

I like that I can actually see in game injuries as well as star players getting hurt early. A.Davis got injured twice in the first 6 games. Once for a day-to-day then he must have came back and hurt himself again. This time for 6-8 weeks. Jimmy Butler went out for 1-2 weeks with a twisted ankle.

All in all, this is much better than nothing. Or simming to get injuries.

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM

I noticed the same thing and had to start three MyGm's over. I eventually just went to MyLeague. Kyrie was getting major leg injuries every time I played them with the Knicks for the first game. Porzingod also had a concussion that sidelined him for 2months....really two month for a concussion?? Smh. Anyways, I bumped durability to 90 for CPU/User, lowered frequency to 10 and duration (can't remember the exact number). Personally I would rather see no injuries or close to it then major players getting injured every game.

Im about to test out my injury sliders and see how it goes

Glad to see other people are concerned with the amount of injuries, let's try to keep this on the first page so 2K Sports will notice it.

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM

I will be the one to disagree. The injuries have been low in comparison to real life NBA for years now. Not many *starters* who are playing 30-35mpg play 82 games for multiple seasons. I haven't been hit by the injury bug but I also am not playing anyone for more than 32mpg consistently.

Have you tried lowering minutes of players who have prior injury and durability issues?

The guys you named: Porzingis, Irving, Westbrook, Ant Davis have all dealt with major injuries within the past few seasons (well Porzingis is more of a minor injury guy).

However do some legit testing before you call for coding changes please. Go in and play guys the minutes they are used to getting and see if over the course of a full season they are playing the amount of games they are used to playing.

Also an aside a major concussion is a serious thing. Two months is normal.

                      1. Read the NBA's concussion policy http://official.nba.com/2015-16-nba-concussion-policy/

                      2. From WebMD the average recovery time for a major concussion is 43 days. http://www.webmd.com/brain/news/2014...covery-study#1

                      3. Edit I know plenty of guys who have missed more time than that with concussions.

At default settings, I had Lowry, DeRozan, Carroll, and Powell all go down with injuries in the span of the first three games of the season. All of them were ankle injuries, and two for sure, -- possibly three (I didn't see how DeRozan got hurt) -- were from taking perimeter jump shots.

I agree with you that there weren't enough injuries at default settings last year, but something is off-kilter this year with the high amount of ankle injuries just from taking jumpers. It reminds me a lot of a couple years ago when players were blowing out knees from taking jumpers late in the game's cycle because of a bad tuning update.

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM

Just simmed a season with the Lakers. I only had my real starting line up probably for a total of a month in a half. Ingram went down in game seven with a broken ankle, he came back and then broke his nose which he went out for another 2 months.

Clarkson went out with an ACL in mid December.

Rudy Gobert went out after all star break with a broken toe for a couple months.

Randle was out three weeks with a toe injury as well.

There were a total of five season ending injuries in the entire league. A lot of players were out 6-8 months with other stuff.

Not sure i want to start another MYGM until this is fixed..

According to Jeff Stotts, Rotowire's injury analysis, the 2015 Los Angeles Lakers had an accumulated 300 games by their players missed due to injury that season. Between 15 players in 1 82 game season the Lakers averaged around 4 injured players per game.

Last year the Lakers were one of the healthiest teams and had players miss an accumulated 72 games due to injury. That's an average of 1 injury per game.

I like Sim. If you don't I think there's options within the game to tune it so it's less realistic.

At default settings, I had Lowry, DeRozan, Carroll, and Powell all go down with injuries in the span of the first three games of the season. It seems there are 2 different topics at player here. I'm talking about simulated injuries. I think what you are referring to is injuries happening in games that you play. Is that right?

If so then that would be a slider issue, which is definitely adjustable.

Injuries definitely need to be patched up.

In the 4 games (12 minutes per quarter) that I've played so far in the 'Play Now' mode, every game had at least one person suffering an injury. I was using All-Star/Superstar sliders.

Some very noticeable things happened with these injuries:
                              • Most of the injuries occurred after my player was taking a jump shot. It looks like the defender landed on the shooter's foot (no foul was called however)
                              • In one instance, I was using the Warriors and I called a timeout. Whilst Draymond Green was walking over to the bench, all of a sudden, he collapsed and suffered an injury - WTF!!?
                              • In another instance, when a player gets injured and is subbed out, the commentary then shifts to David Aldridge for an injury report. Initially, Aldridge states that "it's not good news and he looks to have sustained a significant injury". Two minutes later, Alrdridge again gives an injury update and miraculously "he is able to return" or is either out day-to-day.
                              • In my last game, I was controlling the Wizards and all 3 of my point guards got injured, in a ripple effect - first Wall, then Burke then Beal (swapped him over to PG)
                              • I've noticed the majority of injuries are happening to point guards.
