As you may know or not know. It seems as though when playing online that there are only a handful of releases and layup\Dunk packages that are viable for online play. Some seem to be insta-greens while others are suited horrible for online play.

Aesthetics, Timing, and favorite player's technique, by having the numerous releases and layup/dunk packages allows for the players to be unique instead of just being the same model and movements with different cosmetics.

None, all require timing to get green releases.

Some releases are easier to time than others and work better than than others. Youtubers have put out multiple videos talking about this.
