Teammate grade too important for rep?

So, It's a little disheartening to me to see people hovering at .500 that have a higher rep than me, because my role in Park isn't setting screens and grabbing rebounds that will give me easy teammate grade upgrades, or getting a ton of assists to up my teammate grade.

As a Sharpshooter, I'm expected to catch and shoot, which leads me to using screens, or just catching and shooting, which give you barely any teammate grade.

    So here's the difference

Me (Just hit All-Star 1, like 1% into it)
    MyPark Record: 129-22
    PPG: 8.6
    RPG: 2.2
    APG 1.3
    FG %: .568
    3PT %: .557 (on 529 attempts)

Random Center (Pro 5, about to be the same rank)
    MyPark Record: 51-50
    PPG: 7.4
    RPG: 4.0
    APG: 2.0
    FG %: .602
3PT %: .071 (doesnt matter really for him)

The main difference here is his position alone breeds easy A or A+ teammate grades, while his record would say that he's an average player, and has little to no impact on his team winning or losing.

Now I understand the importance of teammate grade in making people play the game right, but at the same time can we do something that if you go on a streak of 10+ maybe you get a little rep boost?

Another Example would be someone in MyPark that's a PF
    Rep: All Star 1
    Record: 68-60
    PPG: 7.5
    RPG: 3.5
    APG: 1.2
    FG%: .514
    3P%: .388 (on 379 attempts)

Defensive rebounds are important to stop possessions, but they count far too much for rep, and doing things like working off the ball to get open and hitting open shots count for zero, which makes being a sharpshooter very very difficult to get ranked up.

I agree its really hard as a sharpshooter.

    2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

    Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

Maybe if it was archetype based it would be better, glass cleaners get more for rebounds, sharpshooters for wide open shots made, playmakers for assists etc.

same as last year before they "nerfed illegal screens"

the ability to set screens in a meaningful way ensures an A+ for all centers.

doesn't mean you can't do it and fade.

I was interested by this so i had a look at my stats so far
          6 7 Glass Cleaner PF
          Rep; Pro 3, 89%
          Record:31-29
          PPG: 7.7
          RPG: 5.1
          APG: 2.1
          FG: 0.613
3PT: 0(one accidental full court shot
My average teammate grade is A, i do agree there should be some way for sharpshooters and shot creators to get higher teammate grades. Maybe bonuses for consecutive shots without misses? If you go 7/7 from the field there should be a bonus over going 2/7.

That's a good idea as well, maybe each shot giving a little more for going on a streak.

I also saw the screen and fade idea, but that isn't exactly how our offense works, we don't really do screens often, sometimes as off the ball screens but in general we just take advantage of mistakes by the defense being overly aggressive, thus I might get 1-3 "good screens" a game, yet for my team I'm being an excellent teammate.

This has been an issue since 2k15. Scoring the ball never had an significant impact on increasing teammate grade which make it more of a problem this year. In previous years, you can create a scoring build and do other things to get your teammate grade up so it wasn't a big issue.

This year the caps are very harsh so if you create a scorer there is little to nothing you can do but score. I hope 2k recognize this and rework the rep system in order to account for slashers, sharpshooters, and shot creators. I think scoring the ball should give the same rep as an rebound and assist in order to balance it out.

there was a moment when me and one of my friends played exact the same amount of games, but I was pro 4 rank and he was pro 2 . Extra rep I get by playing 3rd position as post scorer in park is the biggest perk for me.
However I really hate being slowest guy in my team and see them letting it fly on offense before i can cross the midcourt.
