Wow are sharp shooters seriously complaining now ? I'm guessing they want to make the half court 7/7 again? My park was infested with sharp shooters draining 3s from every angel. I'm glad this patch went into affect!!! Now you gotta think of a new cheese happy finding.

Re: Makes Sharpshooters Great Again!

I am late to this nerf news, and I still honestly don't quite know what's going on. I'm a 6'7'' PG, sharpshooter. I honestly only make 3s when I'm standing on the wing or corner, basically from drive and kicks. I never pull up from deep or anything and make 3s. I'm a point guard but I am basically a spot up guy. Am I screwed? Am I basically worthless now to the point where I should've just made a slasher or something else?

Naw you're good. You're a playmaker, shouldnt focus all on shooting anyway.

It's funny seeing that Majority of 2k was Sharpshooters. Everyone always pick the easiest thing and when 2k did some balancing to make everything more fair all the garbage people from 2k16 became garbage again, stop expecting handouts and work to learn your archetype they said this 2k was more skill based. Stand wide open activate your catch and shoot badge and use the analog for the bonus with the shot stick, people need to get some skill!!!

Re: Makes Sharpshooters Great Again!

I don't see any issues with Sharpshooters before OR after the patch. I'm a 6'10" PF defensive specialist. Open shooters knock down shots. Contested shooters miss. Seems pretty cause & effect from my end.

The only issue I see is the ultra soft defense the BOTs use. Becoming quite frustrated with the 3-6 foot cushion the AI or user BOT gives guards on the perimeter. So it's not that I'm upset that Sharpshooters make everything. It's the token defense 2K allows. Put a hand up at least.

If you're a Sharpshooter and can't hit shots it's because YOU can't hit shots. This IS an insult because it's coming from a big man.

I'm sorry if I don't think sharpshooters need a buff, I play with one that leads our team in scoring, he had an 80 point game post patch and when he plays with our other sharpshooter they are unguardable together.
This has yet to happen to me.

I have shot contest on intense D but I am in the habit of triggering the *contest manually* - I have more success manually contesting the shot.

*The AI assisted contests seem to trigger much slower in 17 compared to 16. It won't, and really should not be, as beneficial as you using the stick to raise your hand. I anticipate the good look and I either use stick during the closeout or simply hold it up while I'm locked on to the shooting threat.

I'm always in the mindset to *run the shooter off the 3* so I will purposely give him an angle to beat me on the dribble. Its much easier to achieve this in your favor on 17 due to how debilitated the Sharpshooter is with dribble drives. He will also probably be dribbling into help if his teammate is an interior build.

*As a tip, if you play too tightly it should technically be a foul when trying to contest while simultaneously hugging the defender bear tight. This relationship between your body contact should cause you to physically affect his shot which is not fair so in a way the game just punished you with a make on your head instead of a foul lol. I play with enough space to raise my hand without being to physical - in career I have gotten called for shooting fouls on these and occainaly in Park because the manual contest is that much better.

If these outcomes are happening often to you as a lock down defender then I do think it's an isolated issue. I'm not going to suggest you change your habits but FWIW there is my success story above.

It pops your cherry to see a build get nerfed for doing what they are effectively promoted to excel at?

If you encounter a Sharpshooter with Curry abilities from deep: it would be worthwhile to check them at half court. The half court line is smaller in 17 than 16. This half court line would be considered in court on 16 but a few steps deep which people didn't complain about.

Did you complain when we made half court shots in 16 which is deeper than half court in 17? Nobody is going to go 7 for 7 from half court when challenged. Those numbers are as crazed as your happiness for seeing someone else's success diminished in your favor without any effort of your own to disrupt those numbers.

Lot of sadistic cheer from these opponents to another man's success. Using 7 for 7 as a benchmark and infested to describe your contempt for this build really shows your lack of objectivity in your views and lack of honesty in portraying this build.
