Ohh, that's a toughie. But the Lakers do have the better talent base and some serious history to live up to -- can Russell/Ingram finish with 5 titles like Kobe? Is that even possible for anyone to do again?

I know...the Lakers have some very good pieces in place with Russ/Clarkson/Ingram and Randle...a very young SHOWTIME core to begin with.

This past spring I completed Phil Jackson's book,"Eleven Rings", which is a phenomenal read and began reading,"West by West", so I was kind of thrust into a trip down memory lane. I grew up as an 80's kid and I remember so many battles between Bird and Magic.

Going to have my decision made tonight...

Ah, I think you should go Lakers, then. You seem to really be leaning that way and if you've been taking a nostalgia trip, that's only going to get better when you make your own history with the team.

My sentiments exactly...it's just so hard being a Spurs fan and then developing the Lakers because we refer to them down here as,"The Evil Empire".

Success -- and the fame that inevitably comes with an LA team -- will do that. It's the same issue with the Yankees -- sure, they succeeded, but the way they did it and how it was so overblown by their native New York market grates on the rest of the country.
