Whoa. Im glad I havent encountered that nonsense. I havent seen the faster passes as much of an issue, but some OS'ers I really respect do.

And I think it's clear that the faster passes were a response to some fairly hyperbolic OS 'feedback'. Now I know a great company listens to its customers, but hopefully 2K gets better at filtering this feedback. The first month of the game seems to produce reactions on here that are just over the top. Some users come in to this forum to push their own agendas and will not relent until their 'demands' are met.

The shooting sldiers are another example. If 2K is relying on some of the nonsense that comes from users in this forum to adjust their game, that's a mistake. If they are using their own numbers, fine.

The unhappy truth is that passing speeds had to be patched in, which means they have to be patched out.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: THE PASSING IS KILLING THE REALISM. ACCURACY AND SPEED

I think the problem is that they sped up passing universally. They fixed all the slow animations, but the ones that were fine, before the patch, suddenly became lightning quick. That, combined with the fast movement speed, just makes the whole thing feel kind of weird.

I bumped the game speed down to 45 and it did make a big difference. I felt the movement looked pretty realistic, overall, and passing never really bugged me too much. I rarely go for interceptions anyway. The times I do, I watch for guy moving towards position (either posting up or curling), then try to beat them to the spot. So the pass speed doesn't matter usually because I'm already in the right spot.

The problem though is that recovery speed and quickness is terrible on defense. So if they do manage to make a crazy pass (and yes, everyone on the game can pass like Magic Johnson), good luck recovering to stop the play.

As far as flashy passing and full court passing, you're right. I don't think everyone should be able to throw passes flawlessly. I think everyone should be able to make the pass theoretically, but I think it should be weighted towards those who have high attributes as far as high success rates and tendencies.
