Sponsors on jerseys

I saw a post on Instagram stating that the Sacramento Kings struck a deal with Blue Diamond to have their logo on the Kings jerseys next year for $5 million a season.
This made me think.. In the future when these sponsors begin getting patches on jerseys, is that something 2k will have to pay for if the company isn't already in the game? Do you guys think we'll have the ability to strike deals with our own sponsors in MyGM mode?

Sponsorships on the jerseys is one bit of realism I could do without.

i believe the sponsor logos are part of the jersey so will automatically be on all jerseys that have sponsorships.. could be wrong and 2k might have to pay for likeness to have sponsors but i don't think so.

also doubt we can get our own jersey sponsors outside of myleague/mygm

Sponsorship is something the company pays, not the team or 2K. They get money from KIA to have them in the game, for example, so I can't see why a company who sponsor an NBA team would not want to be in the game.

If you had to pay to wear a sponsor's patch, then it would be reverse capitalism

I think I explained it wrong, but turty got what I was saying. The thing I was trying to understand if 2k would have to pay for the likeness of a company that's not already in the game. Sorry if the question is stupid, just trying to get an idea of how the whole thing works.

Personally, I hate the whole thing. But money talks. Make the money if it's there. To the game, the Euroleague teams have their sponsors on the jerseys in game so I'd assume it would be similar for the NBA teams.
