Tendencies in 2K17
It's been shown that one of 2K's weaknesses is player tendencies. As a PG for the Bucks in MyCareer I constantly hear the commentators talk about how the bucks play above the rim. Yet they rarely even attempt them. Even on fast breaks it doesn't happen. Giannis and Parker were 6 & 7th in dunks last season and while Giannis rarely dunks, Parker doesn't even attempt (Not even on lobs).
It also ruins fast breaks when guys who can't shoot go to spot up and me, with my common sense, throws a lob to Jabari Parker whose inexplicably spotted up for a 3 that he shoots at a 25% clip in real life.
Guys like Tony Allen attempting 3's. How every shooter in the game attempts a dribble hop into a 3, even if they are already in position for a wide open shot, even if there's no way he'd make that maneuver because he's a pure spot up guy (Teletovic, Mirotic), Ben Wallace popping from mid. Don't even get me started on MT Blacktop and how I drew a team of 3 centers, got matched up against a team whose biggest player was 6'7 and yet my teammates camped in the corners, even on a double team.
These baffling tendencies are second only to how bad the defense is in this game. It may be worse, because while defensive issues can be quelled with a Sam Pham tutorial and decent user ability, even if I was willing to do an entire roster's worth of edits, they become null & void in online modes or if later down the line I want to equip LeBron's shoe after it releases but it's tied to 2K's official file.
