NBA 2K17 Remains a Solid Buy

In it's current state I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, and I'll be skipping the game next year until after the first several patches hit.

I usually wait about a month or two before buying but this year the game was a gift

I mean if something continues to be repeated, that might be a clue that it's an actual flaw. Hopefully the patch fixes some of this stuff.

Huh? How is pointing out obvious flaws not constructive. Most people don't need perfection, they will be satisfied by a game that's realistic or striving to be realistic, and has gameplay that makes basketball sense. Oh you mean the 8 yr olds who want 90% of their 3 pt shots to go in won't be satisfied. Well, they can play on rookie.
