But the way MyPark/Pro-Am works, you kind of have to buy it in order to continue playing with friends or participate in competitions.

I'm crossing my fingers that NBA Live will finally make a comeback.... its desperately needed as 2k clearly is taking advantage of the lack of competition.
Park is what got me back into the series. Before that I stopped playing 2k after 2k11.

Hm? Not sure what you mean?

NBA Live isn't competition in the sense that it's not very good... but if it was good, then it would force 2k to compete with them for customers.

Maybe 2K will turn this year's game around and do a far better job of communications next year, so that could affect my decision.

But if I had to decide today, I would definitely wait two months before even considering buying the game.
The most bothersome thing to me is that there have been serious flaws in the way that defense works for a few years now, and after 16, I was completely sure that they would fix them for 17, but for many of these flaws to have seemingly not been addressed at all is beyond disappointing.

Fixing the defense should have been priority number 1, 2, and 3 for NBA 2K17, that it wasn't, gives me a level of skepticism about the series that I haven't had since NBA 2K5.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

No. This does not only pertain to 2K. I'm just getting a bit tired of waiting a couple of months for patches and tuners to make the game enjoyable. By that time, the price of the games have gone down.

This! Oh god I was shocked that defense actually regressed when they patched 16 to play better. How does that happen? It shouldn't be that way.

same. buy the game a little late, but patched and cheap. especially for questionable games like nba2k.

I meant that Live is so irrelevant that people need to stop pretending that its existence will somehow "push" 2K Sports to make better games.

2K Sports is in a league of their own.
