NBA 2K17: Ideal Controller Settings And Defensive Tips (Video)

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1oPcfcXXTeg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

YouTube user The Blackra1n21 checks in with this video on some great tips on ideal controller settings in the first few minutes of the video above before he then dives into some key defensive settings.

There's some good nuggets in this video on defensive fundamentals:
    • Obviously keep the attacker in front of you. You can't play defense if you aren't in between the ball-handler and the bucket.
    • The out-of-bounds lines are an extra defender and you should use them.
    • Stealing is best attempted during crossovers and similar moves when the ball is least protected.
    • Holding down L2 and moving left to right is key to playing suffocating defense.

What else are you doing to play tight on-ball defense?

Nothing against the maker of the video but Bogdonavic making KD pick up his dribble is one of the main issues with the game. Elite ball handlers get sucked into the bump animation and it stops their momentum cold and forces them to pick up their dribble.

Smashing into ballhandlers forcing unrealistic animations is not good defense. It's 2K basketball, unfortunately, but it is far from realistic or good.

Agreed. Plus playing Kyrie that close would get you roasted
