Today I started a myleague from the offseason with expansion teams. I got all the way down to free agency with 42.89M in cap room and figured I had a shot at Durant. Besides the Thunder he pretty much is being offered 4years/113M by all the other teams. When I go to put my bid in I am limited to an offer of 26M a year at the most. Wade on the other hand can be offered 30.96M Drummond can only get a 22.12M offer from me at the most as well.

I searched google and here but found no resolution so I decided to post and any help will be appreciated.

I don't know but if it is, I dont understand why other teams with less and more cap space than me can give him(Durant) max numbers.

Pretty sure its age. After so many years you are guaranteed a certain amount with contract.

I saw it already but it didn't aid me in my specific dilemma. It was the very very long and extensive write up. I just don't understand why my money wasn't as good as Boston's money. Everyone could max bid except for me.

The team that already has the player under contract can offer more money. Like carmelo anthony when he resigned with the knicks irl.
