What is the justification for cold zones having such a big impact on your shooting?

I really struggled with hitting jumpers this year for some reason. Now I'm 2/3 through a season in MyCareer and have quite a few cold zones and only one that is hot. I finally can hit my jumper pretty consistent but unfortunately those cold zones have such a big impact on your shooting performance that I can not hit from there, only making the situation worse.
I can hit a green 60-80% of the time from a hot zone though. Since can only change from cold->neutral->hot while playing a game I would have to play on rookie. But even then it would take forever.

You can practice your shot from different spots in Team Practice or on MyCourt but it doesn't effect the zones.

I don't know why they thought this was a good idea. Basically making skill not a factor if the zone is blue. You're just SOL.

Thats why I don't play hof on mycareer. Hotzones are too important, and hof mycareer is brick city. Type in 2klab.com and that explains the effects hotzones have xonpared to xols zones. Alot of people think 2k are ninja patching jumphots, but I think it's a combination of that and resetting hotzones. My sharpshooter suddenly had all neutral and cold zones a few days ago. I couldn't shoot nothing. But if you wanna restart it, maybe simming the season would work?
