Shot Stick Problem(s)

So, I seem to always have trouble with my players deciphering dribble moves from shots with the stick... I'd really like to use the shot stick, but to this point have not been able to quite figure out how I can use dribble moves without my players taking shots instead...

For instance, I will go to dribble behind the back and my guy launches one. Happens with multiple moves, even crossover sometimes.

I'm sure its something little that I'm just doing wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The introduction of the pro stick was the biggest mistake they ever made in my opinion. The 2k13 controls were perfect I could do any move or shot I wanted too

There should be a modifier button, for instance.... its dribble moves by default, then if you hold a trigger or button it activates the shot stick.

Do we really need 3 pass buttons?

You need to use the dribble stick quickly, sorta flick it around you can't hold it.

I Play with the right stick as dribble only because its so annoying jacking up random shots.

Im using the stick for jump shots this year.

I was messing around in practise mode. I found that holding the stick down for the entirety of the shot (until its realeased) and in all directions still results in a lot of makes.

Weird.
