Re: The dribble drive game is in serious need of an overhaul!

I like that some people are patient here, always waiting for the NEXT edition of 2K, with renewed hope every calendar year because we hear and get hints about the NEW and IMPROVED features that 2K are working on for the next release, but we continually are promised "Next year is our year! Next year is the year 2K cuts its bugs and puts out a polished (not feature-filled) release".

Many people have already brought to light that many sports titles (not just 2K) are annual roster updates with mostly graphical updates and miniscule gameplay changes.

2K17 was the rare one where it seemed like we moved backwards. 2K16 was a step forward from 2K15 (which I didn't like much), but then 2K17 just felt like there were:

- Way too many unnecessary animations (ridiculous bumping that slows you down, when it's the CPU physically contacting you and fouling you, but goes uncalled).
- Too much(?) over-the-top logic (double teaming is idiotic, I understand why it happens, but it's an extreme extrapolation of strategy).
- Unusual stiffness when dribbling (2K intentionally patched this in 1.06 and I've been calling them to reverse it for a while now).
- Awful CPU reaction to user control inputs. On-ball D is obviously 2K's method of masking their weak defensive rotations.

2K17 went backwards and I think that's the main issue. Otherwise, if 2K17 were a rehash of 2K16 on it's last patch, most people wouldn't be so critical of it's flaws, but instead of 2K's inactivity.

Does this mean the pick and roll game, and in between game is being reworked as well? PNR ball handler scoring is at an all time high this season, and one of the most efficient PNR scorers, Demar DeRozan is practically useless in PNR because there is no mid range game. Would an improved PNR game make mobile defensive bigs more valuable?

I am still waiting for the game to reach ps3 2k13-14 levels of fluidity. It's such a shame to see them taking steps backwards in that department. It's kind of hard for me to get into because of how clunky it feels now. I just dont feel like I have complete control of my player on offense
