What are badges for in MyCareer?

Taking a break from MyGM, & after taking 3 years off of MyCareer -- I've decided to give it a try.

11th game of the season, unlocked a Pick & Roll Maestro badge, upgraded it to gold after the game (assuming something good will come out of it in result).

I've looked everywhere, it's just all posts about how to unlock it.

They're abilities/boosts.

Nobody really knows how much they impact what you do, but I think they help you a lot.

For example, getting Corner 3 badge helps me shoot 3s from the corner by X%. 2k never releases any numbers, could be 20% or 5%.


If you're not taking your MyPlayer online - don't worry about it too much, but if you plan to play online then you need to get em to be competitive.

Come on now SGC. I know you and I have suffered enough walk on and Pro-AM to know you can take the "I think" out of "they help you a lot". LOL

Thank you, but having the gold PNR badge has done nothing good but alter the opponent AI's reaction to PNR situations.

Before having the badge, when the opponent's defending the PNR, their bigman would hedge high -- I would take advantage of that by not using the PNR and lean towards the opposite direction while having my bigman roll to the basket for an easy bucket. But ever since I had the badge, their bigman has not once come up high on a PNR.

I don't know if it's an error or if having the badge was coincidental & just that the AI's been taking notes of reading the offense, but if it's the latter part -- I gotta say I'm impressed. Good stuff, 2K.
