Why is 2K18 coming out in September?

These games almost always had identical release dates, up until EA destroyed NBA Live after 2010. Like I said before, the NBA tells them the earliest date they're allowed to release the game. They can release the game anytime they want after that date is set. You're right about one thing, the execs want it out the first day possible, with the money they're raking in now.

We also can't forget about the slate of blockbuster games that usually come out between October and December for the holidays. 2K inching further up is just smart really.

Ive always thought that the NBA gave them a date at when they could release it, not just for NBA2k, just like MLB gives MLBTS a release date as does NFL with Madden.

Seems with NBA2k the release date keeps getting pushed up, and while its nice to get the game that early, it does seem to have some impact on the quality of the game, as far as bigs and stuff goes. Now I have enjoyed NBA2k17, and felt it actually played a better game of ball until they started realeasing tuning updates and patches. While its nice to know they continue to support the game by patching things as much as they did, I would think it would be best for them to try and put out the best quality they could so they didnt have to have so many patches.

It may simply be because everyone is forgetting that the NBA season has been pushed up by 2 weeks. The NBA season is starting in mid Oct next season.

i think this game will have more BUGS than Milwaukee again! i will wait because i´m still pissed of nba2k17 causing xbox live disconnects on my one its really nice playing 10 minute quarters and in the 4th i get kicked out of my game and see i´m not connected to xbox live for some seconds! this happend to me with no other game only 2k17 so i deinstalled this game and my agression is going down every day without playing basketball!
