Many players from 1st days of the league are still alive. And even till the mid 90s a lot of players never made much. Some never made even a million for there careers. They all get pention if they play long enough in the league. But depends how much they get. So those players from the 50 - even 80s don't anywhere close the most recent.

This is a big topic that the NBA hasn't really addressed. Like the comment above says, many players never received the big money guys are getting today. I remeber hearing and reading stories of guys still having summer jobs up until 70's. Its so much basketball related history that is never talked about. Younger fans forget the NBA wasn't always glitz and glamour with big time paychecks and endorsements.

Man I really hope 2k make this a reality. I forgo 2k17 because I would love to play with a sir Charles team whether it be Philly or phoenix. The ice has got to break eventually.

Yeah it's a million dollars, 2k can take that out of their VC profit fund. In all honesty, this will show if 2k cares about the fans. We all want Chuck in the game, they know what they have to do to get him in. So do it and make everyone happy. Charles is just trying to get some extra attention on the old timers that were before him. This would be a great goodwill gesture by 2k.

I can see Charles and 2K coming to some agreement for 19 or 20, he sounds genuinely interested now as opposed to past years when Kenny and Ernie would bring up 2K.

Barkleys cause is noble and all but I think 2K has a designated amount they offer to the legends outside of Jordan. If that isn't enough for Barkley then oh we'll. He could always donate whatever that price is to the retired players himself. It's better than nothing. I wouldn't mind seeing one of Barkleys Suns' teams in the game but at this point I'm over both him and Reggie. I don't think they'd capture analyst Chuck well, either. He's just too off the cuff and silly, not to mention a way too blunt.

Chuck said he told 2k they didn't have to pay him a dime..I guess this removes the theory of 2k actually paying Shaq, Kenny and EJ.
