Logged out while creating a player

Now this is insufferable. I was in the middle of creating a player for my roster(NOT a My Player) when I suddenly get the message that the Wi Fi was interrupted. This wouldn't be a problem, had it not returned me to the main menu and wiped out all my progress, after working on the entire appearance, attributes and signature for the player.

Why should a message like that remove me from an offline screen?

A few months back I was in the middle of editing a draft class when this happened. I had somewhere between 10-15 fully edited players done...
