Any tips for User Time Shooting ?

I've played with user timing/release for almost every year but since 2k15 I switched to Real Player %, but have honestly found that kinda too easy. This year I wanted to go back to User Timing but holy crap I just cant hit ****. I like to shoot with the analog stick and this year they also sense the direction of the analog stick like 5 degrees to the right etc (not sure if it was in 2k16 never used user timing in 2k16).

I only play MyGM/MyLeague, any tips ?

Hit the practice mode freestyle. Look for little visual things. I usually turn off the shot meter in all modes. But you can tell when you're early or late by how the ball hits the rim. If it's short your late. If it's long it's too early.
