Tutorials for 2K18

It is time for Visual Concepts to get out of the early 2,000's when it comes to tutorials. Moves tutorials are needed, but the emphasis need to take a back seat to learning how to play basketball e.g. skip pass, freelance offenses, Defensive schemes, ect...It's time to put some meat on the bone. Madden does a great job of this, they do not leave you to your own devices. They do a great job of explaining the concepts, not just the "How To, but the Why".

Re: Tutorials for 2K18

They haven't even released a badge tutorial for 2k17, so crawling before they can walk would be a good first step.

Good that you brought up Madden's tutorials. They do a great job in explaining their zone defenses.

Id want 2k to somehow FORCE you to run through a few of these tutorials maybe in college in MyCareer. Or even better have a couple tutorials and if you complete them all you get 3 attribute upgrades. That would ensure that every single player in MyCAreer does them. I agree the focus needs to be on playing BASKETBALL.

They could have a few tutorials for:

Off ball movement/floor spacing tutorial

Pick and roll/pop as ball handler/Pick setter

Court vision tutorial aka looking at the WHOLE court while handling the ball

defending the pick and roll

ALOT more I just cant think of them

Just make these kind of basketball building skills be what practice is, you know, like real life.
Make it so that the better you are at them, the less times that you have to do in order to fill your upgrade bar.

Make a combine that you have to run before you get drafted and the better you do, the better your player starts off.
Then continue them throughout the season as your practices. You will effectively "kill two birds with one stone" filling your upgrade bar and learning basketball fundamentals.

How 2k teaches people to play this game, is the way they will play!

Currently, its a spam fest and terrible basketball because that's exactly what 2k teaches.

Those are great suggestions, and to add to those.

Just think of the ACE Menu as a start, everything on the ACE menu should be a tutorial When to run, how to run and why you run a particular offense or defensive scheme. Start at the ACE menu something they know you have to use it. Defensive setting just needs text explanations when you highlight what you want to do.
