The main issue on ball handling is the horrible defense in 2k17. It's basically pointless to have a rim protector or lock down defender when other players can easily get 2-3 blks or stls in a game. I just feel that they can't make the same impact on defense that a sharpshooter or playmaker can on offense

Yes, this is the biggest factor on the defensive end. They can add all the mechanics offball or on - ball they want, but until they implement better or more realistic defensive rotations into the game, defense will remain a problem.

Hoping we hear something about this soon. Although, another YouTube personality mentioned in his video that the CPU A.I. still crashes the paint from the corner off - ball. That isn't a good sign.....

Isn't the point of modern NBA defense to force the opposing team into unfavorable positions? Like forcing Lebron to take a step back long 2 vs letting him get a dunk is good defense regardless if it goes in. However in 2k it's hard to force the offense to where you want it to go without bumping and the poor help defense of the AI.

Well, I do think that Paint Protectors and LDDs have the proper power to do what they want. Whenever I go up against a good one, it's a total nightmare, because they have this "You're going to **** up" aura thanks to their badge. That's where their advantage is.

But agreed that steals and blocks are too easy for everyone else, thus lessening the overall impact of a defensive specialist. Like everyone else has said the issue with defense has more to do with movement/flexibility and less to do with steals/blocks. My 6'6 shot creator gets weak side blocks like he's Mutombo in his prime. That shouldn't happen.

Also, I might have missed a video, but you know how they said a lot of things would be toned down? (Ankle breaker, brick wall, etc.) are the videos we've seen of them using players with HOF badges? Because we need to see how things are when everybody has hall of fame badges. That's where the OP stuff was last year. I'm not sure we can make proper evaluations until we see what it's like when everyone's pimped out.

I'm all about waiting until the community has hands on with the game for a few weeks this year post release.
Yep, this time last year all the youtubers were yelling about how much more fluid the game is. Fluid fluid fluid fluid. Fluid this fluid that.

After the 1st patch fluidity was exactly what the game lacked. Ball movement and defense was sluggish, not fluid.

I don't pay attention to any of the hype from youtuber community. I get that they're excited to be involved with 2k, but they're mostly trying to give 2k as much props as they can so that they can get invited back the next year. Not a reliable source of impressions imo. They're brought in by 2k to hype the game, not because they have a deep understanding of basketball

Very well put! This is exactly why I would much rather hear if they finally did something to fix all the non-gameplay issues.
I am shocked at how bad the experience is when you're not actually in a game. How much time you waste simply due to bad decisions. The game could be improved so much with relatively little effort.

A couple of examples of where I think 2k could do much better:

1. Loading times are long in 2k17 and they can be tricky to optimize (I know, I am a software developer). But much of that could be alleviated by giving players a direct way of going where they want. For example, don't force MyCourt before going to Team Arena.

2. Fix statistics. Not a game breaker, but we shouldn't see "999 Games played / 999 Games lost" for an entire year. It makes the game look unfinished and unprofessional. And those kinds of bugs are all over the place!

3. Then we have irritating bugs like, controller settings being reset if the "DEMO" starts playing when you're in the main menu. Or needing to reload MyCourt by going to the store or editing appearance when you change an animation. Failing to do so and you won't see your changes.
There is no excuse for not fixing that.

4. Don't hide information, and update players on their progress! Just look at the amount of videos on YouTube dealing with how to get X badge, or what to do in the gym to update your stats.
Too much time if wasted guessing.

Personally I've reached a point where pre-ordering is not automatic. Not because of Gameplay. I love actually playing. But because I am so frustrated with pretty much everything else.

The load times are the biggest issue. My friends tried to play my PS4 when I fell asleep and turned on 2k. They ended up resetting my PS4 twice!!! Because of how long the red screen is on for. They thought my PS4 was frozen. It's ridiculous how much wasted time is simple spent waiting to play. I tell my girl I'm going to play 2k. 1 hour later and I've just finished loading only my second park game or Pro-Am game. It's crazy!

The fact I still get "Locating" all the time when trying to join a friends court bothers the hell out of me. And once I do finally join and we load into Walk on pro am, we are split up from each other. How have these things not been fixed?
