Cavs are better for the future and current.

A lineup of Thomas, Smith, Crowder, LBJ, and Love matches up much better against the Warriors' death lineup.

I think Thomas and Irving are essentially the same player. Irving is younger, but I'm not sure that is worth Crowder and a top 5 pick.

He's gonna miss Kyrie against the Warriors

IMO for the Cavs, they got Gold with this trade. Crowder is legit on defense, Thomas is a great player and will mesh with the Cavs with brilliance. I hope...

So Kyrie got traded...

The Celtics have like 5 available numbers. If they weren't retired I think he would've taken 1 (his Duke number) or 10 (his team USA number). Just add em up. I think he wore 11 in HS too.

Maybe not with current teams...classic teams on the other hand..

Agree. He was good if you got his jump shot going but his height put him at a disadvantage inside even though he finishes well IRL. Maybe that will change in 2k18. I do think the Cavs will make him easier to play with because of the players around him. Thompson and Love should be great in the PNR/PNP. LeBron can make IT deadly with or without the ball. And I feel like the Cavs have better shooters than the C's did last year. C's lacked reliability outside of IT.

For people saying Kyrie is only marginally better or equal to IT are we forgetting the age difference here? If we were comparing Thomas at 25 to Kyrie at 25 I don't think it would even be close. Before last season did anyone even consider Thomas as a perennial scorer? There's a good chance Kyrie still hasn't reached his prime, most superstars enter their primes around 27/28, IT isn't getting any better. I LOVE IT, been a Celtics fan my whole life, but it's difficult to have a lot of confidence in a 5'9 28 year old coming off a hip injury.

Personally, I think the Cavs won the trade, but there's a lot of uncertainty for them. The Nets will be better this year, and given how horrible the East is, that pick could end up in the 6-10 range.

And as much as I love IT, he was basically just a throw in for this trade. He has a torn labrum in his hip, and there's a good chance that he'll never be the same player again. That injury has ended quite a few NBA careers...

I would consider IT a star, not a superstar. That's just me tho

I feel like that style of red background is awkward with the Celtics uni. I wonder if 2k will change that also

Re: So Kyrie got traded...

As a C's fan, I like the trade. Here's why...

1. Isiah Thomas is four years older than Irving
2. I think Thomas' hip injury is more serious than we realize
3. Irving is under contract for the next three years ( can opt out though), while Thomas is on a contract year.
4. Irving is just entering his prime
5.It's far from a guarantee that the Brooklyn pick will be the top pick
6. Irving averaged 25 PPG at age 24 playing with Lebron

Overall it's a ballsy move for the Celtics, but I believe this set's up the Celtics better for the next three year than having Isiah.
