    Graphics?

Are the graphics any different from 17? I don't see much difference in the videos.

They don't look as outstanding in the videos, as they do in the screenshots. That's for sure.

I liked some of the screenshots, but I must be in the minority here thinking that 2K18 looks (in trailers) more cartoonish than past titles (not talking about player models, but graphics in general - lighting, textures etc...the overall look when you just look at it for the first time). Something about it just doesn't look as impressive as past titles. Maybe I got used to the 'awesomeness' since 2K14, maybe they can't enhance it that much at this point...who knows...

To me the graphics outside of trailers and screenshots never impressed me. Something about videos just don't do the game justice, but once I see it on my tv, things change. The past has shown, that mostly all games look better once you play on your one tv. Trust me, with the new xbox coming out, and 4k wether native or upscaled, it would look just fine.

          I won't lie to you:

The graphics are going to look nearly identical to 2k17 with some slight upgrades here and there. The player models will probably look slightly better and we won't have as many malnourished players running around, but if you're expecting a huge overhaul and hoping to get blown away you're probably not going to get it.

I agree YouTube videos never show me what I see on my tv when it comes to 2k, it's always a lot better in person.

The youtube compression is really nasty. You realise it when you make some videos and upload them on youtube.

As stated , we are at the point where YouTube doesn't equal what appears on the TV especially with a 4k tv.

Also I don't expect too much of a graphical upgrade but the improved body types already help a ton. If 2k can get away from the smooth skin look and add muscle tone it will look even better

Maybe I'm just easily impressed but I've always thought the graphics for 2k have been amazing across every generation. Even when players don't look totally accurate they still have highly detailed textured faces, tattoos, hair/facial hair with visible pores and reflective eyes etc. Refs and cheerleaders all look great too considering they're not the focal point.

To have all that with great looking courts and appropriate reflective surfaces and lighting and run at 60fps is a great achievement.

2k18 looks to build on that even if it's not in a major way which is cool, they can only do so much with the hardware they have to work with.

Haven't the videos all been shaky cam videos with worse resolution than you would get when you play the game? You can' judge the graphiscs from those at all.

                        Re: Graphics?

Honestly, I dunno why people expect big graphical changes on annual games. Unless it's a console jump, or the first game after the console released, you won't get much unless its lighting changes or player likeness improvements. Or a 4K jump, now. It's always gonna look roughly the same from year to year aside from what I mentioned.

Yeah I think they're different this year.

These are the only changes people should expect. Player likeness and lighting. They can only change so much year to year on the same console.

                              - Improved face (with the best eyes and hair I've seen in any 2K)

                              - Improved sweat patterns / textures

                              - Much more realistic lighting

                              - Improved skin textures (including nails and wrinkled areas like knuckles & elbows)

                              - Improved body and bone structures (shoulders, arms, body shape, hands, veins)
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.
