Well now that we got the 'are they going to patch the game' responses going in here we can keep that out of the blog thread and reserve it for conversation/ questions.

I maintain there is a fundamentally sound AI core in this game; the physics and motion system didn't let it shine last year. I catalogued lots of the great AI on my videos. Im not suggesting it was perfect, or close to it. But it was better than any others sports game ever.

Let's not underestimate the scope of their task; recreating human intelligence and lack of intelligence in an almost infinite amount of basketball situations whilst accounting for variation in player skills, tendencies, team styles, game situation etc etc etc.

And this is their 3rd year at it.

Im not picking on Sam, but he had to go to fairly intricate lengths to 'break' last years game. I will expect he will able to do the same for years to come. But each year development will be made towards that end goal.

If this phsyics and motion system is nailed, expect to see this AI shine through.

Now that this exciting news of the blog has settled in, I am starting to get nervous about the 2K17 game breaker I encountered. At some point I know OG will mention new defensively improved AI and this will either directly nullify the issue I had..... or he won't touch on it at all which will make me slightly worried.

If the issue is still in the game, 2K18 will last 5 minutes for me and I'll be forced to walk away.

Below is a screen (click to enlarge) of the issue which caused me to stop playing 2K17. Specific to AI help defense on high PnRs. Automatic 2 points. AI doesn't adjust, despite how often you run it.

IMPORTANT: The timing of the pass needs to be late enough so the roller can just catch and dunk. And the 2 defenders on Russ need to be defending PnR as shown in the picture.

Here's hoping OG reports what I'm hoping he does.....
