Hoping this is right.

Seems a lot like Live. Using pro am type modes to earn your way into the NBA. Sounds like this gets you a tryout and not into the draft.

Not only that but text based would make it easier to have careers with different paths and stuff. Was it 2k10 that had D-League? It was so dope talking to friends and you had guys drafted in 1st round, guys taken in the 2nd. People who didn't make the cut the during training camp and were in the D-League. It made starting multiple myplayers worthwhile since it varied greatly.

So, basically something like a more detailed version of 2K15's story with us going undrafted.

I'm just waiting for My Career to have a My League equivalent. By that I mean a totally customizable My Career experience that has more in common with last gen's My Player as opposed to a linear story about some random dude who may or may not look like you.

I know some people enjoy the narrative but I'd prefer they allocate those resources somewhere else. That's why I think we'll see a striped down and more streamlined My Career introduced in 2k19 or 2k20.

2k would be the total package by having your standard My Career and My GM and then customizable variants of those modes in My Player and My League.

Yeah, I used to put all the legends from the historic teams on the FA list. After the first season of mycareer they were ready to be picked up by all the teams.
2nd season of mycareer and onwards you'd be playing against Jordan, Magic Bird etc.... It was awesome. Yeah not realistic, but was still fun, and there should be an option for something like that.
