Shot contest seems to have a huge impact in 2K18. And looks like the shot meter takes some getting used to.

A lot of these YT videos have people who are jacking up bad contested shots and their timing is way off.

Just feels like 2K18 shooting might be a new experience?

Also hope that the CPU defense isn't too sticky or a brick wall like in 2K17. I'm noticing a lot of hip-riding animations which hopefully are based more on physics instead of just getting into the animation and waiting for it to end.

I just want to be in control of my movement.

But overall 2K18 is looking pretty solid.

Looks like the grade system will still heavily favor rebounding, screens, and assists. Once again, no love for the people who have to actually put the ball in the basket on good shot selections.

That's because of two things;

1. They're trying to promote teamwork so people will actually share the ball and not hog online.

2. Points are more common than assists or rebounds. Think how quickly you would rank up if you got the same for 1 point as you do for an assist when you can easily average 30ppg compared to 10 or 12 apg.

And I get that, I really do. However, at one point, you could still increase your grade by getting good shot selections. Why should you have to suffer because you put up 30+ from your opponent literally never guarding you? Everyone else is benefiting off of assists (and getting much larger increases) off you for doing your job as a scorer. You're stuck at a B or B+ while everyone else is getting A+s off feeding you.
