I'll reserve judgement until I've actually played the game.

If none of those statements were attached to 2k, I'd fully agree with you. Jump shots in 2k, at least the shooting mechanism, is NOT skill based. Timing is not a skill in this sense(especially since there's a vibration feedback this year at the release point). Getting good, clean looks is how the user controls the outcome.

In real basketball people miss open shots. Now, Let's dead this talk before we unnecessarily cause a,patch.

I agree lol espically with the patch part. So there is a vibration this year to indicate when to release? I didn't know that at all. This year should be interesting

I think some jumpshots look a bit "clunky", not that smooth from the animation side.

It seems like the slightest contest triggers the ugliest brick animations. Contests look way too strong yet again.

It feels like 2k is artificially trying to achieve realistic shooting percentages. The game is looking pretty ugly as a result.

These are pros who shoot hundreds of shots each day. It shouldn't look like a pick up game between football players.
Agree with you for 2K17: every time a j is contested by the defender the %rate drops dramatically down even with masters like Kobe or MJ, with errors very far by the target.

that's why 2k gaming rewards only 3pts or dunks (too much reliant on 3pt).

grown in 90s, I am still in love with mid range game and would like to see it at least usable if not at same level of modern bball

Seriously? He's talking about jumpshots throughout the whole game and you give an example of last second, intense pressure, game winning shots?

Have you looked at the shots that they were taking?

Yes. It was in my last post. Last second, intense pressure, gotta make it, game winning shots. No matter what kind of shot you're taking, wide open layups or contested jumpshots, it is never the same feeling or as easy as taking a shot midway in the second quarter.

Come on man, are you serious ??? Everybody plays their BEST defense against game winners and these shots are mostly difficult shots (high-pressure shots).

It is comical for you to put this out there.

The guy is right, in middle of the game with great scorers like Kobe, KD are missing shots because of a minor shot contest and it affects their shot like they were in their face....
