Not assigned to a team in MyCareer?

I contacted 2K Support about this, but I'm here to ask if anyone has had anything like this happen to them at all.

I re-signed with the Hornets in Free Agency and I suddenly got a black screen, the game froze, so I restarted the game, came back, now I'm on no team at all and there is nothing on the schedule. I can do whatever I want in the Neighborhood except for go to the Practice Facility or the game will crash.

I grinded this mode for an entire week, no VC purchases and I would've honestly preferred to have my save data go missing than this crap.
