How do you set up your rotational timeline?

Do you set up your rotation for 1 whole unit to come in, or do you mix it up with bench guys playing with starters. And I'm not putting the 6th man in there that's different. Do you have second unit come in. Or do you have second unit guys play with first unit guys

Re: How do you set up your rotational timeline?

I set my rotations to stagger players rather then platoon swap

This is the portion I ignore. Looks tedious. There should be “suggested” lineups we can select. Else I leave it as it is.

i just swap starters with bench and then swap bench with starters.

usually with 2 min left in the first quarters and then swap starters back in after 2 to 3 min are passes in the 2nd quarter.

repeat for second half.

will make adjustments if really needed but usually it dont.

head to head though.

Re: How do you set up your rotational timeline?

I set it as if irl how the teams play. Eg. Like Melo, Curry usually play the entire 1st and 3rd quarter. Draymond would go out half way through and return at the last 2 min mark. Kawhi would take his breather at the last 2 min of the 1st and 3rd quarter and return at the 5-minute mark of the 2nd quarter. While he's put, Parker and Aldridge will fill the void.

I'm reluctant to play 3-big men rotation during Phil Jackson days with Bynum, Odom and Gasol. In 2K, it means they become ineffective in the 4th quarter.

Re: How do you set up your rotational timeline?

I use a staggered buddy system and it is built around John Wall.

When he is on the floor it is an pace and space type offense. When I take him off (first half of 2nd quarter and early 4th) I slow it down to a 3 out 2 in post centric offense. My rotation is made with this in mind. For example Jason Smith is not on the floor if Wall is not out there.

I then try to plan my rotation so that when Wall is resting Beal is on the floor. Beal checks out of the 1st and 3rd quarters kind of early so he is good to go during Wall's rest periods.

Wizards bench kind of sucks so I always try to keep 1 or 2 starters out there at all times.

If I'm up by double digits, I'll throw in the bench squad (since I actually like my bench squad for the 76ers)

In a close game, I'll throw in either a SG or big men and move some guys around to complement the incoming bench player.

Example: Ben Simmons moves anywhere from 1-4, Fultz 1-2, Saric 3-4, Embiid 4-5, etc.

I actually enjoy the game more when I manually sub in 1 or 2 players at a time, rather than just sending in an entirely new unit.

Same here. Two seperate units with minor adjustment for foul trouble and matchups i dont really like or cold players.
