? Pump Fake doesn't work ?

Does the pump fake work for you guys? I have tried a few hundred pump fakes and I have never seen a Defender fly past me. I was watching the Chicago Bulls Cleveland Cavaliers preseason game last night and there must have been 10 plus times where the defender bit on a pump fake leaving the shooter wide open

It may be that I'm doing something wrong so I wanted to see if you guys were having any Success With It

You I've seen Human controlled team. That play off ball. I've seen the computer go for fakes. But I don't have many vs FULL CPU games yet.

I'm sure I saw a thread already on this.

To the op, you have to time the defender correctly. Now, I have to admit I'd like to see them bite on my fakes a little more.

Example: I'll be in the post and I'll score successfully with a fadeaway shot on one possession. The next possession I go back to the post and execute the same fade away, but it's a pumpfake. In real life, the defender has a strong chance to bite due to the previous possession. I guess that would tie to a more intelligent to AI, but that would be lovely to see play out.

they don't work enough, no... and i'm being reasonable. you should get bites at the very least, under the basket and on late close outs on the perimeter. the ai defense is all-knowing when it comes to your shot.

jab steps also have no effect. besides the cpu playing you tight 80% of the time, they absolutely NEVER drop back on a jab (post jabs, do work iirc, but who in the hell jab steps in the post), or shuffle their feet on a pump fake. this mechanic worked well in previous 2k's, no idea why they changed it.
