Missing Wide Open Shots?

Can anyone explain to me why I am missing wide open shots in online ranked? My opponents seem to always knock down wide open shots anytime they are open. They hit contested shots at such a high rate they don't care if they are open or not when they shoot them. I just don't get it. I can be wide open and still miss. There has got to be something else I am missing here.

I remember when Fight Night came out and I didn't buy boost or stats and realized everyone else was buying boost to get wins.

This is really frustrating. I am in Hall of Fame online ranked. I was Greatest of All Time in 2k17 and I had to deal with the same issues.

Sounds like your ISP sucks. Do you have any problems with other games?

It happens in real life basketball too, so please take that into consideration. Also, your internet ping to the servers might be static. Just slash more often when you miss wide open. Then that creates catch and shoot opportunities. I strongly believe that catch and shoot shots increase shot % when a shooter is "wide open".

In my option sharpshooters should miss way more. Some guys shoot contested 3s 5/6 or even better.

I don't have any issues with lag or anything. I have Xfinity high-speed internet at 75mbps. I haven't had issues with any other games but I really only play 2K.

I get that but whenever I'm open I miss more times than not and when my opponents are open they knock it down almost 90% of the time. I play on-ball defense so I try to always keep them from getting open shots.

It's very frustrating its like my game settings are handicapped but not for my opponent. When the game first came out I was hitting 3's whenever I was wide open. I can go 1-11 easy in a game.
