Can they please get rid of the animation where players ball fake in the post?

You know, that animation where a guy pump fakes, shows the balls away from the hoop, then pump fakes again, and basically travels and 9/10 times gets blocked.

I've had lots of good passes ruined because the cpu teammate decided to do this crap and has to take a contested shot or gets blocked because he wanted to be like hakeem.

and the shuffling of the feet during the animation should be a travel but it isn't called, like a lot of other travels in the game.

In this example they actually shoot the ball but more often than not they do another fake instead of shooting and just wastes their time. My main issue is that the fakes never result in the defender reacting or jumping. it never works.

Why remove that?

That's how you do the dream fake. But the problem is the user pointing the left stick. And tapping square. I think this is user input error. Not a problem with the move. I will say it probably could be mapped better.

I don't get that fake unless input that move. I usually do it with Hakeem or Rondo trying to get my defender in the air. But it's input move. You just don't randomly get when driving to the rim.

I believe he's talking about the CPU doing it.

But, no....there's no need to remove it...just correct the CPUs tendency in that context...

It'd be like taking away the ability to take away the catch and step back because the CPU did it in the wrong situation last year..

It's not a player move, it's a CPU move and like I mentioned before it ruins great assists because the animation triggers.

@24: what's the point of the animation if it never results in a defender reacting at all? I have never, ever seen it result in a defender biting even the slightest bit. It doesn't seem to serve any specific purpose other than to show people that the animation exists.

I'm yet to see a big that doesn't do this, so I doubt it can be a tendency issue, unless they're just ridiculously high on every big that's in at the start of the game, and is generated.

I was going to start a thread about this a while back. It completely destroys offence at times. I can give the ball to a wide open KAT under the rim and he starts doing this nonsense until he has to take a heavily contested layup after the defence gets back and smothers him.

It's 2k18's version of 2k17's stepback 3.

There's a lot of moves thay dont have a canned CPU response....that doesn't mean they should be removed....not every one plays MyPlayer or likes to run CPU vs CPU....I personally like to use this as a set up move. I hear people crack on 2k for removing moves ' for no reason'...this is literally asking for it.

(Unless you're saying removing it all together for your AI teamates- then hey, go for it....I just dont want my ability to do it to be taken away)

I think there is a misunderstanding here. It's not a "move" that a player can actually make. It's an animation that solely belongs to the CPU. There is no way for a user player to actually initiate that kind of move.

The example with Hayward here is not the best (no offense). The cpu also triggers this when in the post and the problem then is that its waaaayy too slow, looks unimmersive as hell and often results in traveling (which might be a bug). The main problem though is that its way too slow.

I have that reward in mycareer, so I'll look at a few random bigs and see what they register as.



Edit - Just checked, the only tendencies shown in MC are for control, hook, and fade, so there is no way to be able to tell what the tendencies for this actually are.

It would be fine if there was a cpu tendency to tone down or stop it. It is rather annoying because the cpu does it a lot and it rarely results in a positive play.

I think 24th is talking about from the Devs side. They can drop the rate that the CPU uses the mode. But I agree with him. It does not need to be removed. Like I said before. I use the move from time to time. To remove it would make no sense because it's only the CPU that does it too much.

But I agree with one of the post above. They just need to speed it up a bit. The move just comes out at the wrong time for the CPU.
