Dallas Mavericks (21st Overall, 24th Offense, 16th Defense)

STARTERS
76/C Dirk Nowitzki (15.6 PER)
71/PF Maxi Kleber (11.7 PER) - UNDERRATED
81/SF Harrison Barnes (15.5 PER)
76/SG Wesley Matthews (10.1 PER)
77/PG Dennis Smith (11.6 PER) - OVERRATED
BENCH
74/PG Yogi Ferrell (9.7 PER)
77/PG JJ Barea (18.5 PER) - UNDERRATED
72/PF Dwight Powell (16.3 PER) - UNDERRATED
74/SG Devin Harris (15.9 PER)
76/C Salah Mejri (19.7 PER)
76/C Nerlens Noel (15.7 PER)
73/C Jeff Withey
66/SG Antonius Cleveland
RESERVE
67/PF Jonathan Motley
72/SF Dorian Finney-Smith - OUT INDEFINITELY
77/PG Seth Curry - OUT INDEFINITELY
69/PF Josh McRoberts - OUT INDEFINITELY

TEAM NOTES
1. Maxi Kleber has helped turn the Mavericks season around. They are 5-4 since Kleber entered the starting lineup (compared to 2-13 otherwise). Not a great talent by any stretch, but he’s an NBA player and knows his role.

2. Barea is 5th in the NBA with 43 AST%, and has continued his strong production from last season. He’s one of the league’s better sixth men.

3. Only 20 years old, Dennis Smith still has a ways to go. 47 TS% on 29 USG% is miserable efficiency for a shoot-first guard (compare to 55 TS% on 27 USG% for Barea).

4. Powell has put together some strong games of late. Over his last five he’s averaging 11/6 on 71% shooting in only 20 MPG.

TEAM NOTES
1. The impossible happened. I'm finally content with a team's OVR ratings.
As an incredibly biased 76ers fan, I'm actually good with these ratings now too - especially since the badges updated.

RoCo with the defensive was much needed
Simmons has legitimate badges
Embiid's post badges are exceptional

2k did an incredible job updating badges / ratings for the 76ers to this point in the season.

so a team like philly gets all that love but a top 5 offense this year and last season in the raptors doesnt?

how are they ranked 14th overall in offense with teams like the hornets/heat ahead of them? is it cause they're in canada? i dont get why half the roster is underrated and why lowry is a 85.

Denver Nuggets (18th Overall, 7th Offense, 22nd Defense)

STARTERS
89/C Nikola Jokic (24.8 PER)
78/PF Kenneth Faried (19.5 PER) - UNDERRATED
76/SF Wilson Chandler (9.5 PER) - OVERRATED
79/SG Gary Harris (15.9 PER) - UNDERRATED
76/PG Jamal Murray (14.0 PER)
BENCH
79/SG Will Barton (17.9 PER) - UNDERRATED
75/PG Emmanuel Mudiay (12.0 PER)
77/C Mason Plumlee (15.0 PER)
73/SG Malik Beasley (9.9 PER)
74/PF Trey Lyles (18.3 PER) - UNDERRATED
74/PF Juan Hernangomez (9.7 PER)
74/SF Richard Jefferson
72/PF Darrell Arthur
RESERVE
67/SF Torrey Craig
69/PF Tyler Lydon
68/PG Monte Morris
85/PF Paul Millsap (17.7 PER) - OVERRATED - ETA March

TEAM NOTES
1. 2K gave Millsap the benefit of the doubt, but his production is in line with last season.
2011-2016: 20.4 PER, 56 TS%, 8.0 ORB%, 20.5 DRB%
2017-2018: 17.8 PER, 54 TS%, 5.3 ORB%, 19.2 DRB%

2. Faried is still the same energy/rebound machine he’s always been. 60 TS%, 14 ORB%, he doesn’t need plays run for him in order to produce.

3. Chandler is posting career lows in rebounds and steals. 51 TS% on 14 USG% ain’t cutting it either.

4. Lyles has been producing since Millsap got sidelined. He can play, but Denver simply has a roster crunch.

Better watch it, or you will be called a conspiracy nut, making a comment like that, lol, just joking with ya.

TBH, thru the years, the team ratings and rankings, has always seem wonky. So Im not sure they are actually correct, in terms of how teams play. Wasnt it last yr with how bad the Cavs were defensively, yet 2k's ranking had their defense rated as one of the best.
I havent looked at the actual player ratings, for the Raptor players, to see if they are way off or not. I dont know if this is correct or not, but I heard someone say Coach ratings, influence those rankings as well. Not sure if thats actually the case or not.

Re: NBA 2K18 Roster Update Details, Badges Adjusted Across The League (12-5)

Golden State Warriors (2nd Overall, 1st Offense, 7th Defense)

STARTERS
76/C Zaza Pachulia (15.7 PER) - UNDERRATED
88/PF Draymond Green (16.6 PER) - OVERRATED
96/SF Kevin Durant (23.2 PER) - OVERRATED
90/SG Klay Thompson (18.6 PER) - OVERRATED
95/PG Stephen Curry (27.5 PER)
BENCH
78/SF Andre Iguodala (11.6 PER) - OVERRATED
75/PG Shaun Livingston (11.0 PER)
75/SG Nick Young (13.7 PER)
73/SG Patrick McCaw (11.8 PER)
74/SF Omri Casspi (16.4 PER) - UNDERRATED
74/PF David West (25.6 PER) - UNDERRATED
75/PF Jordan Bell (22.9 PER) - UNDERRATED
70/PF Kevon Looney (12.6 PER) - UNDERRATED
RESERVE
76/C JaVale McGee (20.1 PER)
69/PG Quinn Cook
70/C Damian Jones
66/PF Chris Boucher

TEAM NOTES
1. Zaza is a very underrated defender which is why he continues to start over flashier players like McGee.

2. Draymond is versatile, but not a great offensive player. He is a mediocre shooter (31 3pt% over the last two seasons) and isn’t a post-up threat (0.50 PPP, 2nd percentile).

3. Durant’s rebounding is back to normal (18 DRB%) after a career high there (23 DRB%) last season. His turnovers are also up (a mediocre 1.4 A/T, down from last season’s 2.2). All in all he’s had better seasons and his rating should presently not reflect “2nd best player in the NBA”.

4. Klay has been overrated for a couple years now. He doesn’t create his own shot, doesn’t make his teammates better, and 2K has gifted him a 90 for awhile. Compare him to any other 90+ rated player and it quickly folds.

5. Iguodala is 34 years old and consequently having the worst season of his career. His TS% dropped 71 points (shooting 27% from three) and is recording career lows in the following: 10.0 DRB%, 1.1 STL%, and 10.7 USG%.

6. West is shooting 67% from the field (69 TS%; last year 57%) and has 26 blocks in 274 minutes (absurd 7.6 BLK%). Two years ago he had 55 blocks in 1400 minutes.

7. Casspi career highs: 67 TS% (last year 53%), 24 DRB% (last year 15%), 2.9 BLK% (last year 0.4%).

8. Looney’s overall production indicates he is better than your average 70 OVR who is clinging to the league. Career numbers: 59 TS% on 13 USG%, 11.6 ORB%, 18.5 DRB%, 3.9 BLK%. He’s 21.

9. Bell is likewise another player who would be playing regularly if he played for a team that wasn’t the Warriors.

Re: NBA 2K18 Roster Update Details, Badges Adjusted Across The League (12-5)

Houston Rockets (1st Overall, 2nd Offense, 5th Defense)

STARTERS
85/C Clint Capela (26.2 PER) - UNDERRATED
78/PF Ryan Anderson (13.9 PER)
76/SF Trevor Ariza (12.5 PER)
96/SG James Harden (30.8 PER)
90/PG Chris Paul (22.9 PER)
BENCH
81/SG Eric Gordon (14.4 PER) - OVERRATED
76/SF P.J. Tucker (9.5 PER)
75/PF Luc Mbah a Moute (10.3 PER)
77/C Nene (20.3 PER) - UNDERRATED
73/C Tarik Black (16.3 PER) - UNDERRATED
70/PG Bobby Brown (3.8 PER)
68/PG Demetrius Jackson
69/C Zhou Qi
RESERVE
71/SF Troy Williams
70/PG Briante Weber
69/C Chinanu Onuaku

TEAM NOTES
1. Capela is 6th in PER thanks to his elite FG% (currently 2nd). His rebound rate skyrocketed this season to 35 DRB%, good for 2nd in the NBA. He’s 5th in Blocks (5.9%) and 8th in ORB% (14.6). He’s the Tyson Chandler that Mike D’Antoni’s teams have always lacked.

2. I’ve seen Gordon get a lot of credit for the Rockets success but he’s shooting 40% from the field, 31% from deep, and doesn’t really bring much beyond his scoring. The Rockets are undefeated when Chris Paul takes the court.

3. Nene is shooting 66% from the field. His FG% progression over the last six years: 48, 50, 51, 54, 62, 66. He has thrived in a bench role over the last few years.
