I just downloaded NBA 2K18 and going through all the settings. Is there a way to play game as just coach and not control players? Kind of like Coach Mode? I saw the simcast but I want to watch the game, I tried selecting CPU at the beginnig of the game but it wouldnt let me, I could only select either of the teams. Any help or suggestions on how to play in a Coach Mode? Thank you!!

I could be wrong (I'm not home) but I believe you have the "choose sides" option in the pause menu when in-game. If thats still there, you could do it that way. But you wouldn't be a coach as you can't call anything. You'd have to switch back to your team or to either team to call timeouts, etc

so when do the coach settings apply? is that when I am playing the game? so if I have it set for the asst coaches to handle subs, gamplan, etc. that just happens automatically during gameplay?

so if I dont choose a side, I can only watch with no control over timeouts, subs, etc?
