I have a question about contract strategy.
I am in MyGM Mode and I found an absolute diamond in the rough this offseason. On one of the last days of free agency I signed a third year player who hadnt gotten much of any Playing Time to a 1 year - 2 Million dollar deal. He was a 79 overall PF.
Throughout the season he has been amazing and is now an 86 overall and my starting PF. His expected contract value is now at 25 million. Obviously I couldnt negotiate with him because I had only signed him to a one year deal.
So I am well over the cap. I have Andrew Wiggins at 30 million and two other players both in the 20/25 million range. Do I have any ability to keep/pay my diamond I found for next season? What is the best strategy in this scenario?
