I think I'd make the choice based on how you're running McGrady, your opponents' likely choices and which versions of these guys you're talking about (bc All-Time versions are way more powerful than historical).
Are you going to repeatedly pick 'n' roll with McGrady? If so, I'd pick a roller or popper based on your personal preference.
When I take McGrady in drafts with other people I do a lot of scoring at the rim, not exclusively, but a good amount. If that's you, and you want to make McGrady the #1 option, I would personally choose a player from the list that can at least hit mid-range to pull the big defender away from the rim.
Based on your post, it doesn't sound like you're playing against humans, so maybe you don't need to worry about strategy too much but rather just matchups. If it's humans, will they take a guy like Shaq or Hakeem and pound you in the post? If so, then you need to think about how you'd counter that and that counter will have on your offense.

I'm actually drafting him and using him a lot in the paint but I did recently try him from the all-time list and he is already in his prime then so I decided to just use him and then draft a rookie big man from the list I have to compliment him. Honestly I thought Dirk would be one of the best options because he can roll or pop but then again I need some defense down low as well if I plan on winning a championship so then I thought Shaq or kg but Webber was also sounding like a good choice.
I don't play online really I just play myleague so strategy definitely plays a part but just not as crazy as online.
I haven't actually used Robinson much so maybe I should try him out to see if I like him.
I don't mind if they can't shoot the 3 because a lot of the people on my list really couldn't which sucks but someone who can shoot mid range still would help even though I don't use it that much I would if it is one of their strengths
