What happened?

Now we have dark arenas and the crowds cheer loud when its only a few minutes left in the game.

This needs to be brought back.

The dark arenas is what upsets me the most, it seems everything has taken a step back really graphics, lighting, sound, arena and court detail has been scaled back the last couple of years, 2k16 was a good step up graphically just to get scaled back down in 2k17 and 2k18.

I'm still waiting for the tacos chant to go away. Not once have I ever heard that chant in the real NBA outside of LA. It drives me insane.

2k9 was always underrated to me. It was perhaps the best in the graphics department and atmosphere.

authentic crowds/arenas dont sell VC so i dont expect it to be a thing ever again.


the reason i was so insanely into NCAA football back in the day was because i felt like i was at the game with the crowd.


its something i wish every sports game had but it doesnt appeal to the micro transaction driven gaming industry so

And whats up with the mini parachutes always dropping into the crowd? Is that supposed to simulate a tee-shirt cannon? Where in the world do you actually see that? It looks ridiculous

i do like that they attempted to add some type of "home crowd momentum" thing with the screen shaking if the crowd is "into the game" but it could be done so much better

wow, what a difference they used to focus on for audio. The crowd would react appropriately to all aspects of the game and the gasps, oohs and ahhs are awesome. 2k10 and 2k11 were no slouches either specially when they added that retro filter (for one year). And true authentic stadium sounds. 2k9 is awesome for audio.

it's a perk though and nba live is stepping it up regardless of what people think arguably their atmosphere is better. They do need to understand that there are people who only play offline and care about atmosphere and won't spend a time on VC. IF they keep neglecting the fans, lots of prior 2k fans won't buy. I'm back to playing 2k16 and 2k12 myself.
