Bring back quick sub menu w/ energy displayed

Just started playing Play Now Online in the past few days, after being almost exclusively a MyPlayer and Team Up player for the past few years, and I had forgotten about this.

In my first game, mid way through the first quarter, I hit down on the D-pad to check the energy levels for my guys, only to be informed of what each players overall is instead.

Im 50 games into my Play Now Online career and it seems like no one bothers with individual substitutions, its just mass subs all the time. Back in my 2k8-2k11 days, walking up the court checking energy levels or making subs was the routine. I bet more people would go back to individual subs if it was at all convenient to do so.

The only way to tell someone's energy level is to check their white stamina bar by their foot.

Offline gamer here. Hall of Fame difficulty, default settings.

My other gripe about this is that fatigue means absolutely nothing.

Yesterday I ran several games back to back with the Bucks starters for all 4 quarters just so I can get a comparative Giannis 2k18 screenshot with sweat. Absolutely no substitutions. Heavy sprint button. 12 minute quarters.

All starters had energy level at around 8. Yes, 8 percent and they were still performing at optimal level. I made shots, played locked down defense, made 3 point shots, etc.

Yea the lack of impact on performance due to fatigue has been a longstanding issue. Id like to see fatigue cause a progressive ratings loss to the point of near uselessness if you leave the player out there that long in a high paced game.

I would begin to trigger the ratings loss at like 69 energy or so. Once the gatorade symbol comes up, I would make that the sign that your player is at like 40% efficiency or something like that. I dont actually know when it comes up currently though, as I sub my players out routinely to prevent ever seeing it in the first place...

subbing was amazing back on the old 2k games. And I don't know what on earth thought the 17 control scheme for subbing was innovative. It was awful, 18 was a lot better, but we need to see the energy on the sub screen like the old days. The meter under their bodies gives you a general idea, so at least we got that.

Just played NBA 2K16 for kicks and giggles, and it still had a number for the stamina....

I really miss the old substitution D-Pad where you could push left and right to quickly scroll through your desired subs. 2K18's sub menu was way better than 2K17's but I'm still left wondering why they'd purposely move away from something that worked so well.

I would love to not only see performance hits due to low stamina but also a change in behavior. Something like not getting back on d, committing lazy fouls, slow rotations, slow to come off screens and some matador defense thrown in there. Just an increasing amount of low effort plays as their stamina drops after a certain point.

My guess is change just for change sake. Updated UI makes presentation seem fresh even though function might take a hit. I used to LOVE setting my points of emphasis before the game started. Now I have to either burn a timeout or take up precious time off the shot clock on multiple possessions to mess with a clunky interface.

Also miss having a team selection screen to see what team my opponent will take while having the option to back out. Not only is there no option to back out, we have to close the entire app. Until some time this year, we were either forced to play the game or quit/dashboard and take an L.
